Awhile back, Transfer Flow introduced the first-in-the-nation gasoline high-capacity replacement fuel tank for 2020-22 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty short bed, crew cab pickups with 7.3L engine. Here’s how you install it.
The 58-gallon fuel tank system passed extensive emissions testing and has been granted an executive order from the California Air Resources Board. This is a step-by-step guide for installing a Transfer Flow 58-gallon replacement fuel tank system.
The fuel tank is made from American-made 12-gauge aluminized steel for superior strength and corrosion resistance and includes exterior fuel lines and a highly engineered emission system. Each fuel tank is equipped with internal baffles for additional durability and to reduce fuel slosh. This system has a complete installation kit, including straps and mounting hardware, to get the heavy-duty tank mounted and ready for the road. Comes with a 6-year, unlimited mile warranty.
Made in the USA, this tank is for drivers who want to maximize their fuel capacity and driving range. The tank sits above the differential. That way, no skid plate is needed. It also its in the same space as the stock fuel tank and mounts inside the frame rail. Transfer Flow makes them from 12-gauge U.S. aluminized steel, for durability and strength. Each tank comes with straps and mounting hardware, black powder coat for a durable satin finish.
Moreover, the tanks are baffled to prevent fuel sloshing. They have a 6-year, unlimited mile warranty and are legal in all 50 US states.

Transfer Flows story began in 1983 in the beautiful and historic town of Chico, California, when former General Motors engineer Bill Gaines, founded the company as an OEM fuel system supplier for the motorhome and travel trailer industry. TFI quickly expanded into the mobility, work body, and mainstream automotive industries, and by 1994 the company relocated to a 35,000 square-foot manufacturing facility as demand continued to grow. Six years later, a 20,000 square foot building was built on an adjacent 3-acre parcel, and finally in 2008, a 15,000 square-foot warehouse was also added.
