German vehicle customizer Matzker KFZ-Technik has departed from its usual Land Rover platform to create a serious adventure motorhome from the Mercedes X-Class pickup. The Matzker Mercedes X MDX looks like it could climb a mountain so you can get the best sunset view before camping for the night.
The new vehicle is huge at 18 ½’ long and 7’4” tall. It houses a sleeping area for two in its cargo bed and ditches the tarpaulin cover for a full-fledged roof equipped with solar panels.
For offroad adventures, the motorhome has elevated suspension, beefy off-road tires and a locking rear differential. An auxiliary light rack and spare tire mount are on the roof
Some might consider the interior tight, but there’s more practicality than one might expect. There’s a kitchenette with a sink, a two-burner stove and a refrigerator. You may also access the living room straight from the driver’s cab.
